The Avenue Coaching Logo

Our Head Coach at The Avenue Tennis Club is Sally Bentley, an LTA licensed coach, she has years of experience and training in Mini-Tennis, Disability Tennis, Cardio Tennis and Tennis for Adults, and currently is the Middlesex LTA Coach of the Year 2016.

Sally's passion lies within mini-tennis but her main aim to increase participation, in girls and adults, and those who have never played before.  She runs a comprehensive junior and adult programme and is constantly tailoring it to fit the needs of the members and anyone new coming to the club.

Whether you want to play socially or competitively, our programme will have something for you.

When Sally joined the club in 2009 we only ran one Adult Men’s Team, we now boast 1 Adult Men’s Team and 3 Ladies Adult teams; Plus 10 Junior teams including 4 teenage girls teams. Sally is a tenacious coach; she sets herself high standards and tough objectives but always with a very high level of success.

The Coaches
Sally works with a team of highly qualified and professional coaches and she trains her young players to be Tennis Leaders and encourages them to take their Level 1 coaching qualification as soon as they can.  One of the Level 1 coaches that she has mentored, Harvey, is the Aegon Young Volunteer of the Year 2016.  Sally is beyond proud!

Private Lessons (often referred to as 1-2-1s)
The hourly rate is £30 - £35 but ask Sally for more details. You do not have to have an hour, some juniors only have 30 or 45 minutes when they start private lessons so do ask about those rates too.

If you are not a member of The Avenue Tennis Club you can ‘try before you buy’ and play as a visitor, paying a £5 guest fee (Juniors and adults) and sign the visitor's book.  We allow up to 4 visits before we would expect you to join.

1-2-1 Lessons are paid on a pay as you go basis.  If you cannot make a lesson you need to inform the coach with a minimum of 24 hours notice so that they can replace the lesson with someone from their waiting list.  If you are unable to give this level of notice then please just offer the coaching fee at your next lesson.

Contact Sally
Sally is always available to discuss your coaching requirements, whether for yourself or for your children, so please don't hesitate to contact her via our contact page.
